C.S Lewis can suck it - the Wayward Children books are the portal fantasy books our world needs.

If there's anything that's overplayed to death, it's freaking vampires. (And zombies. Don't talk to me about effing zombies.)

Now, it's not that this book is bad; it's not. It's more that the words rouse little to no reaction from even the tiniest cell within me.

The writing is classic McGuire, vibrant and slippery and quirky. And the diversity. So refreshing.

This short little book is a morose punch to the gut.

The book doesn't just introduce new characters; it deepens the reader's understanding of those we've gotten to know and love/hate...

The feelings in this book, conveyed with immense artistry through pages of prose, are raw and real.
