I cannot get enough of this style.

Poetry within prose and prose within poetry. Daly-Ward's writing just writhes with pain and life and beauty and restlessness. As a reader, you grow with her as we watch her move through her life:

She's a little girl just beginning to suspect her power - and powerlessness - as a woman.

She's a teenager, breaking rules and angry angry angry.

And she's a woman, dealing with mental health and addiction issues.

"This is how it goes. You start having sad days. Get to know what "going under" is. Going under is when everything feels pitch gray. You crave something but you don't know what."

All Daley-Ward's experiences are rendered in an evocative, right-to-the-meat style that leaves me simply drooling for more.
