I love love love recommendations from friends, especially when the physical book passes between us and they say this is one of my favourites. There is something so pure and vulnerable in handing someone a shard of yourself.
THAT BEING SAID...
Just kidding - there's alot I like about this little book of poetry. These words would be fantastic companions after a breakup. There are pieces that speak to making that choice to leave, to dealing with the aftermath of a relationship falling apart, and with starting to pick up the pieces and put yourself back together again. I am resistant to the theme of needing someone else to be whole, but the author redeems this through the themes of strength and rising-above, which everyone can subscribe to.
