Title: Little Fires Everywhere
Author: Catherine Ng
Genre: Suburban Paradise Family/Mama-Drama

This book was so, so satisfying.
I've never head anything quite like it. Ng slowly unfolds several lives, letting one story logically lead to the next. You get to know a captivating cast of very real characters living in a place not unaffected by class and prejudice. The writing flows easily, and the story speaks to a lot of the truths and hardship around growing up, family, love, and right/wrong.
What I liked most was how Ng illustrated each character with such an even hand that while you may not like a person, or you may rage at some of their beliefs and views of the world, you can't truly hate them because you know where they're coming from. We would all get along if only we knew everyone's story!
Finally, what I reaaaally appreciated was that I never felt like things were so dire or awkward that I couldn't bear to read on. Sometimes with these kinds of books, with stories about mounting tensions and awkward situations and miscommunication, it's all you can do to cringe to the finish line. Ng, however, took all the right twists and turns.
It was all very sad and hopeful and satisfying.

Would recommend, will re-read!
Aside: when I first typed this, it said “little fries everywhere” - I would 100% read that book.
